Now I will discuss what is average lifespan of a squirrel. In general a squirrel can live upto 25 years. It is more than other household pet animals. But in reality it is hard to reach that age. Because before it most of the squirrels die. In most of the cases squirrels live upto 10 years.
Because in practice they face many dangers. Generally male squirrels live more than females squirrels. American red squirrel lifespan is 2-8 years. Lifespan of a fox squirrel is 12 – 17 years. Southern flying squirrels can live from 3 years to 5 years.
Lifespan of eastern grey squirrel can live from 10 to 25 years. Black squirrels live to around 17-18 years.
