Hi, now we are going to discuss poultry farm management to get maximum yield and profit which can meet food requirements on a large scale. We already discussed various branches of animal husbandry in short but not we will focus on the scientific management principles in poultry farming to maintain high yield.  

Animal Husbandry and Poultry Farming: 

Population in most of the country is rising at a very fast rate but we do not have sufficient sources of food to meet the population requirements. So we should think about alternative food sources as well as we should try to increase the yield of the existing food source to handle the supply of food for its high demand.

Not only food, animal husbandry and Poultry farming give us different other requirements like manure, leather which also have an increased demand today.  

In animal husbandry we perform a special type of agriculture in which we take care of the domesticated animals for their economic importance and practice to improve their genetic quantity by selective breeding to increase the yield. It is a large scale business which gives us relief from the high demand for our over growing population and a lot of employment benefits specially for farmers.  

Different products of animal husbandry and Poultry farming is also helpful for recycling different animal waste materials which ensures maximum utilisation of natural resources.  

What is Poultry Farming: 

Poultry farming is a type of animal husbandry in which we rear different poultry birds scientifically to obtain poultry products in large scale to meet our daily food requirements. In poultry farming we rear and try to improve genetic quality of poultry birds to get two major product eggs and meat which are rich sources of protein.

Now we have very high quality breeds of different poultry birds which can produce large numbers of eggs and we have some poultry birds which can produce large amounts of meat in a very short time, all of these are very helpful to supply sufficient amounts of food for our population.

Good breed layer poultry birds can produce large numbers of eggs and a good variety of broilers can produce large amounts of meat in a short time at very small expenditure.  

Cross breeds produce high quality breeds who can produce large numbers of eggs, produce large amounts of meat, can produce large numbers of offspring, resist most of the fatal disease and tolerate high temperature.  

Poultry Farm Management: 

We rear different types of breed for eggs and meat but farm conditions are not the same for all breeds to get maximum yield, we have to focus on scientific management for their housing, food and other requirements. 

Food For Poultry Birds: 

Eggs layer and broiler need different types of diet for their maximum growth and to get high yield we should supply food according to their requirements. Meat producing poultry birds or broilers require protein and fat rich foods which promote their flesh growth.

On the other hand egg producing poultry birds or layers need food rich in vitamin A and vitamin K which promotes their eggs production capacity.  

Shelter for Poultry Birds: 

Any pest or disease causes reduced production in poultry farming so we should give clean pest and disease free environment to avoid infection for high yield. Proper ventilation, light, cleaning and medical care prevent various infectious diseases in poultry birds to maximum profit in poultry farms.  

Disease Management in Poultry Industry: 

Poultry birds are sensitive to various infectious diseases which not only reduce the production but sometimes cause mass death in poultry birds which may lead to economic damage in poultry farms.

Improper diet, bad environment, lack of cleaning can cause different nutrients deficiency and various infectious diseases in poultry birds so we should ensure good quality of food, proper cleaning, regular health check-up, disease free environment for good profit in poultry farms.
