Hi, now we are going to discuss the life cycle of a member in class Aves chicken and its Life cycle but if you want to know a little bit about the characteristics of Aves then it will give a general overview of common members of class aves.

Chicken and its Life Cycle:
The life cycle of chicken will give you an idea about other birds also because they show similarities in their life events from single cell zygote to multicellular mature bird and we will discuss all the stages in the life of chicken step by step.
First Stage: Eggs Stage:
We know that birds are oviparous so it is sure that the developing embryo grows inside a hard shell where they get all their requirements like nutrients in the form of yolk but the eggs need special care until the embryo inside the calcareous shell grows enough to come outside of the eggs.
In female chickens the frequency of ovulation is high and commonly during the summer time the female chicken lays eggs and they lay eggs multiple times because after laying eggs ovulation can occur within a very short span of time and they can lay more than 250 eggs in a year.
Second Stage:
After the laying of eggs they need special care because the eggs need to maintain a certain temperature and the female hen plays a great role to maintain the temperature of the eggs and for this they sit on the eggs and the female chicken is known as broody chicken.
The broody chicken is a temporary situation of chicken when chicken tries to maintain a certain temperature because to hatch successfully the eggs need a certain temperature and during this time the embryo develops inside the eggs slowly and the source of nutrients for developing embryo is the yolk.
The temperature and sufficient amount of nutrients present in yolk help the embryo to grow into a small chick and it takes about 21 days. But more 4 to 5 weeks need for growing feather on their whole body but during this time they do not become independent, they are dependent on the mother chicken and always remain with the mother chicken and after some time their body feather grow more and at a time they become large enough to be independent and then they search for their food.
Third Stage: The Pullet Stage:
The chicken is now grown enough for becoming independent for their food but they are yet immature they need more time to become mature and during this time they are not immature like a chick and not mature like an adult chicken and this stage between the immature chick and mature chicken is known as the pullet stage.
They need more time to grow their wings to grow sufficient and their size during this time is nearly two thirds of an adult chicken size and the features now present on their wings and legs in patch.
But in this stage the female chicken can lay eggs but the eggs are not as large as the adult chicken, actually the chicken in the pullet stage can be called adolescent or teenager stage in the life cycle of chicken.
The Adult Stage:
When the pullet grows enough they become adult chicken and the male adult chicken are known as rooster while the female adult chicken is known as hen at a time the rooster becomes mature enough to produce sperm and the hen starts to lay eggs.
Female chickens moult annually when they shed all their wings and then lay eggs frequently throughout the year but after one year they become exhausted and do not lay after that in a regular manner.
A Basic Information About Chicken:
Chicken are very popular birds due to their eggs and meat and for this reason they generally grow as poultry birds in poultry farms and contribute a major role to supply the food for our growing population.
